January 1, MSNBC Host Fired for “Repeated Bad Behavior On and Off-Air”

MSNBC has severed ties with far-left host Tiffany Cross, after network executives reportedly grew tired of “bad judgment.”

The network decided against renewing the controversial “Cross Connection” host’s contract after two years, giving her the boot. Her weekend show will feature a slew of guest anchors until a replacement is selected. The programming change only affects Cross, and not the show’s staff.

A source close to the situation told Fox News that executives were tired of dealing with Cross’ poor overall judgement.

“Repeated bad behavior on and off-air. Bad judgment,” the source said.

Cross’ recent controversies

Some believe Cross’ divisive rhetoric had irked NBCUniversal executives.

During a recent appearance on Comedy Central, Cross suggested Florida should be “castrated” from the rest of the U.S.

Cross was mocked recently for her comments about Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion incident. She suggested that Tagovailoa had been put at-risk due to the Dolphins head coach’s racism — incorrectly identifying the quarterback as Black and his coach as white. In fact, Tagovailoa is Samoan and his coach is racially mixed.

Fox News noted that Cross has previously made vitriolic comments about conservatives:

• Saying there’s already a “civil war” occurring in the country
• Urging leftists to “pick up a weapon” and fight for democracy
• Referring to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as “Justice Pubic Hair on My Coke Can”

Cross has also called Justice Thomas “Tom,” a shorthand for “Uncle Tom” — an offensive term meaning a Black person who is excessively subservient or obedient to white people.

She’s also referred to Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) as a “token,” and suggested that Harriet Tubman wouldn’t have helped him on the Underground Railroad, and would have instead left him behind.

Cross has previously said she’s willing to carry out “the most radical” of solutions to solve issues of police brutality and criminal justice. Speaking on her MSNBC in May 2021, Cross said, “this is clearly not a system that can be reformed … it feels like it’s just time to burn it down.”

In August, Cross went against a left-wing talking point that the economy was doing better, saying it “ain’t doing better for us,” meaning minority communities.

Cross has also blasted Republicans who celebrated Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse’s courtroom acquittal, after a jury found he had acted in self-defense.

“I find these people disgusting,” she said last year.
