January 1, California Will Become Abortion ‘Sanctuary’ if Roe Overturned
With the imminent possibility of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, California abortion clinics and advocates announced a plan to make the state a “sanctuary” for those seeking the procedure.
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) created the California Future of Abortion Council, consisting of more than 40 abortion providers and advocacy groups. The council released a lengthy list of 45 suggestions for the Golden State if Roe is overturned.
“We’ll be a sanctuary,” Newsom told The Associated Press. “We are looking at ways to support that inevitability and looking at ways to expand our protections.”
The report suggests providing travel expenses, like gas, lodging, and transportation, for out-of-state patients seeking an abortion. It also recommends that lawmakers reimburse providers who provide service to patients who can’t afford to pay.
Newsom said he’ll include some of the 45 recommendations in his upcoming January budget proposal.
Currently, the state’s Medicaid program pays for abortions for low-income residents. California is one of six states that require private insurance companies to cover the procedure.
The pro-choice research group, The Guttmacher Institute, said that 132,680 abortions were performed in California in 2017.

I wonder how many people in California are wishing Mr. & Mrs. Newsom had used the abortion option?
I know the “Right to Lifers” will not buy my argument, but nobody gives a whit about all the ova that are lost daily to menstruation nor the millions of sperm cells lost in ejaculations. They just get all excited when coincidentally one of each unites in fertilization. Weren’t hose ova and sperm cells just as precious? I would think so. And on the other side of the coin, so to speak, doesn’t each child conceived have the right to be wanted, loved, and cared for? In many, many cases fertilization occurs by accident, unintended, undesired. In my view it would be a better outcome if that fertilized ovum were just not carried to term. Oh, yes, the argument is “that is a child, a human being,” but how many right to lifers rush out to provide a nurturing home for those ill-conceived children??? By letting those unwanted children to be born into families that are not prepared nor willing to receive them are to my mind just as guilty as they accuse the advocates for abortion to be. Sins of omission are just as grievous in my view as sins of commission.
Why does The People’s Republic of Kalifornia always have to be “the sanctuary” for everything that’s not good? Gotta put those ‘Exodus Plans’ in high gear!
California is being ruined, TOTALLY ruined by the Dems & they don’t care. Now Newsom wants CA to become the murder of 100% totally innocent life capitol of the US. Is he related to Herod & Pharaoh?
