January 1, Kamala Harris says she and Biden ‘absolutely not’ discussing 2024 run

Vice President Kamala Harris said she and President Joe Biden have “absolutely not” discussed a 2024 bid for reelection.

“You’re not discussing 2024 yet?” Good Morning America host George Stephanopoulos asked during an interview Thursday morning.

“Absolutely not,” Harris responded. “No.”

The question comes amid the pair’s steadily declining approval ratings and recent disappointing election results for Democrats in Virginia and New Jersey. Biden will be 81 in 2024, leading some to speculate that he might not seek reelection.

“What President Biden and I started our day talking about, as we normally do, is bringing in members of our intelligence community to review the presidential daily brief and talk about classified information around threats to our national security and hot spots around the world,” Harris told Stephanopoulos. She added that they’re current primary focus is the “implementation of the bipartisan infrastructure deal.”

Spurred by recent reports of growing tensions between Biden and Harris, the ABC host asked the VP if she felt “misused or underused,” which she denied.

“I’m very, very excited about the work that we have accomplished,” Harris said. Though, she’s aware “that there is a lot more to do.”
