January 1, 33 Senators Request Special Counsel to Investigate Hunter Biden

33 Senators sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, requesting that he grant U.S. Attorney David Weiss the authority of a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings.
“Given the politicization of the DOJ under your watch and the importance of avoiding any appearance of impropriety, the undersigned request that you provide U.S. Attorney Weiss the full protections and authorities of a special counsel,” the letter reads.
“This is one important action that you can take that will go a long way in restoring faith in our governmental institutions.”
Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) led the charge, with 32 other GOP senators signing the letter, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).
“There is no way of knowing the entire scope of the investigation, but evidence seems to be mounting that Hunter Biden committed numerous federal crimes, including, but not limited to, tax fraud, money laundering, and foreign-lobbying violations,” the letter reads.
“Indeed, Senators [Chuck] Grassley and [Ron] Johnson have conducted an investigation for several years that has resulted in the public discourse of facts that support those criminal concerns, including the disclosure of financial records showing the Biden family’s close financial connections to the communist Chinese government and questionable foreign nationals.”
“It is clear that Hunter Biden thrived off a ‘pay to play’ culture of access to his father, then Vice President Joe Biden in exchange for financial compensation.”
The lawmakers sent the letter one day after CBS aired an interview with President Joe Biden wherein he claimed that his son’s foreign business affairs didn’t present any conflicts of interest for him.
“There’s not a single thing that I’ve observed at all that would affect me or the United States relative to my son Hunter,” Biden said in the interview.

we have a real problem in this country of those who have, and those who have not. the haves enjoy many privileges such as not having to answer for their crimes, or getting a watered down sentence when they are absolutely “caught” red-handed. the “nots” are subjected to immense discrimination (not racial). the “nots” have been called every adjective under the sun, locked up in perpetuity for minor things, while the “haves” flaunt their deeds in front of us. there will come a time when this tide will turn. it cannot continue. having lived a long time, I have seen probably “it all”. , but when people tell you a horse is a cow, and force you to believe it or be arrested, it is way past too late. reference the fact that a minority now tells the majority that a man can have a baby, that you must refer to someone as “them”, when clearly in school you were taught that some words are plural. them has always referred to and always will more than one. people who failed grammar in school insist on being called plurals. why? do they have more than one person living in their heads??? sorry, folks, as the name implies, you can’t con the old. we’ve seen it all.
