January 1, Biden’s approval numbers take a nosedive

According to a new poll by NPR, PBS Newshour, and Marist, the public’s opinion on President Joe Biden has recently taken a nosedive.
The poll asked Americans if they approve or disapprove of the job Biden is doing as president. Data shows that approval dropped from 53% in May to 43%. Seven percent of the participants said they were unsure.
Conversely, Biden’s disapproval number saw a 10 point increase, from 41% in May to 51%.
A separate poll by ABC News and the Washington Post also found a significant dip in Biden’s approval percentage.
The survey, conducted between Aug. 29 and Sept. 1, noted a 44% approval rating, with 51% of the respondents saying they disapproved.
Biden’s term started with 67% approval.
The sharp decline comes as the commander-in-chief is the subject of bipartisan criticism for his handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan — for which a majority of Americans think he should resign.
