January 1, Liz Cheney Will Leave GOP If Trump Wins 2024 Nomination
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) said she “won’t be a Republican” if former President Donald Trump wins the GOP’s 2024 nomination.
“I’m gonna make sure Donald Trump — I’m gonna do everything I can to make sure he’s not the nominee,” Cheney said during an interview at the Texas Tribune Festival.
“And if he is the nominee, I won’t be a Republican,” she added.
Cheney, who serves as the vice chair of the Jan. 6 committee, has been highly critical of Trump, despite largely supporting his policies.
The second-generation Republican lawmaker voted with Trump 93% of the time during his term, Newsweek reported.
“Knowing what I know now, I would not have voted for Donald Trump,” Cheney told Texas Tribune CEO, Evan Smith.
In August, Cheney emphatically lost her state’s GOP primary to Trump-backed candidate Harriet Hageman.

the bushes, the cheneys and the rockerfellers represent the “country club republican” wing of the party. some in the chamber of commerce are strongly supportive. they are cozy with the CIA and have never met a war they didn’t like. they are the “big government” republicans. as such, they are less welcome in the party than they once were. there are many democrats who don’t fit in with 57 genders, green bankruptcy and unrestricted immigration. the parties are undergoing a bit of a reorganization right now. bye lizard.
A few years ago a CNN hack mentioned an action that Trump just announced, then asked Trump what AOC was going to think of it. Trump said,”Who cares?”
Same thing applies to what Cheney is going to do – or is threatening to do. “Who cares?”
