January 1, Report: Administration Officials ‘Bearish’ on Gun Reform
White House officials are privately “bearish” that Congress will pass any substantial legislation on gun reform, according to a report.
Although President Joe Biden delivered an address last week calling for major gun reform, his aides don’t believe it will make any difference.
“How many more innocent American lives must be taken before we say ‘enough’? Enough! … Enough. Enough. … Enough. … Enough. … Enough. Enough. Enough! … My fellow Americans, enough! Enough,” Biden said during a 17-minute address on Thursday.
“It’s time for each of us to do our part. It’s time to act.”
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) has been saying that he’s more hopeful and optimistic based on his conversations with members of the GOP, but the Biden team reportedly remains skeptical.
