January 1, WATCH: Rudy Giuliani Slapped By Angry Supermarket Employee
A supermarket employee slapped former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R), police confirmed.
The New York Police Department said that a 39-year-old ShopRite employee slapped Giuliani in the “mid-back” while campaigning for his son Andrew Giuliani.
“All of a sudden, I feel this, ‘Bam!’ on my back,” Giuliani told the New York Post. “I don’t know if they helped me not fall down, but I just about fell down, but I didn’t.”
“All of a sudden, I hear this guy say, ‘You’re a f—king scumbag,’ then he moves away so nobody can grab him,” he added.
Giuliani said the worker expressed anger at him over abortion rights.
“‘You guys think you’re saving babies, but you’re gonna kill women,’” Giuliani said, quoting the employee.
Giuliani, a former lawyer for former President Donald Trump, told the New York Times that politically-motivated violence must stop.
“This has to stop. This is getting ridiculous,” Giuliani said. “I’ve been in politics 50 years, I’ve never been attacked like this.”
Daniel Gill, 39, was charged with third-degree assault, third-degree menacing, and second-degree harassment.
