January 1, Trump calls for Pulitzers to be revoked from NYT, Washington Post

Former President Donald Trump renewed calls for The Washington Post and The New York Times to have their Pulitzer Prizes revoked, three years after the publications won the awards for their work investigating the Trump campaign.

“These Pulitzer Prizes for totally incorrect reporting have become worthless and meaningless,” Trump said in a statement.

In his statement issued through his Save America PAC, Trump said that the Pulitzer Prize Board was “too embarrassed” to respond to a letter he wrote earlier this month urging the board to revoke the Pulitzers.

In Trump’s October 3 letter, addressed to interim Administrator Bud Kliment, he wrote the national reporting awards were “based on false reporting of a non-existent link between the Kremlin and the Trump Campaign.”

“The Pulitzer Board has a standing process for reviewing questions about past awards, under the guidelines of which complaints are considered by an appointed committee,” The Pulitzer Prizes told The Hill in a statement.
