January 1, Video: Biden Attempts to “Shake Hands with Thin Air”
President Joe Biden finished giving a lengthy address at a North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and extended his hand for a handshake — but there wasn’t anyone standing nearby.
Footage of the event quickly made the rounds on social media.
“After Biden finished his speech, he turned around and tried to shake hands with thin air and then wandered around looking confused,” the Washington Free Beacon wrote on Twitter.
A number of lawmakers responded to the footage, including Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO).
“Biden wasn’t ‘shaking hands with a ghost’ and we should stop making ridiculous jokes like that. He was shaking hands with his voters,” Boebert tweeted.
