January 1, Walmart Closing Stores in 3 States
After a recent warning from Walmart’s CEO that stores could close amid a spike in shoplifting, the retail chain is set to soon close almost half a dozen stores.
A “underperforming” Walmart in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is closing within 30 days, a spokesperson said. The company noted that several factors contributed to the closure.
Last May, New Mexico special agents conducted a sting operation to catch shoplifters at the same Albuquerque location that’s set to close. Investigators arrested 16 people during the week-long operation.
Residents of Wisconsin and Illinois will see Walmart closures as well.
The retail giant is set to close a location in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Meanwhile, three Walmart stores in the Chicago area will also soon shutter their doors. Two of the Chicago locations are closing due to failing to meet financial expectations, per a report.
“This decision was not made lightly and was reached only after a thorough review process,” a Walmart spokesperson said. “We have nearly 5,000 stores across the U.S. and unfortunately some do not meet our financial expectations. While our underlying business is strong, these specific stores haven’t performed as well as we hoped.”
In December, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon warned that the uptick in shoplifting could cause the retailer to raise prices or close stores.

There are stores and resturants everywhere closing for one reason or another. We had a drive-in resturant just closed after about 60 years in our town. One of the fast food resturant that still does not have it’s dining room open, just the drive thru. No help. Paying $15 an hr. still no help. Help wanted signs every where you look. This country hasnever been in this bad a condition in the history of the country. At the rate we are going, it will soon be bankrupt and there will be no more government programs, not ever money to fund the military. We are about to lose our country if something isn’t done.
Some of these Walmart stores are closing because of their high theft rates. The criminals are not being prosecuted in these cities even if they are caught. You can thank George Soros’s Dem/Communists funded organizations for giving big money donations to people being elected as DAs to go soft on crime.

Walmart is victim of itself/ the stores are poorly managed Walmart 3 to 4 years ago cut managers a lot, fired them with years of experience going out the door. If you fog a mirror they will hire you, so they get a lot of people who just plain don’t give a spit. People gtew tired of buying everything from China. 88% of what Wally World puts on their shelves is from China. Regardless of how they paint it, they still treat their employees like crap!!!!!
