January 1, House Candidate Grilled Over Past Promotion of QAnon

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY…
1985: 8.1 earthquake in Mexico City kills an estimated 10,000 and leaves 250,000 homeless.
A reporter questioned House candidate J.R. Majewski (R-OH) over his past social media posts that promoted the Qanon conspiracy theory.
During an interview with Spectrum News DC’s Taylor Popielarz, the Republican candidate was asked about previously wearing a shirt emblazoned with the letter “Q” and using QAnon hashtags in social media posts.
“I would say that I have very rarely gotten a question about that,” Majewski said. “The only time I get a question about that, it’s from the mainstream media… voters in Ohio’s 9th district don’t care about QAnon.”
“What I did as a private citizen has absolutely no bearing,” he said later in the interview. “I’ve already given multiple answers on the fact that I don’t support QAnon. I’ve never been to their forum. I know there was a podcast I was on which they picked the screen up, but I don’t know anything about them.”
According to Raw Story, Majewski has tweeted a QAnon-affiliated hashtag more than 50 times.
