January 1, Report uncovers horrifying number of crimes committed by Lyft drivers
Lyft released its Community Safety Report, revealing that 10 deaths and 4,158 sexual assaults occurred during rides from 2017-2019.
The report divides the sexual assaults into five subcategories, including non-consensual kissing and non-consensual penetration. According to the data, rapes occurred in one out of every 5,000,000 trips.
The 10 deaths stemmed from physical assaults.
“Put simply, even one of these incidents is too many,” the report reads. “That is what drives our relentless work to continuously improve safety for riders and drivers.”
